Voices of Experience: Cindy Hamrick Reflects on 52 Years with WVU Medicine

Cindy Hamrick has been a cornerstone of United Hospital Center. As a registration specialist in diagnostics, Cindy brings an unmatched level of commitment and expertise to her role, traits that have enabled her to serve for 52 years with WVU Medicine.

“I enjoy what I do,” Cindy says simply. Her enthusiasm for patient care has never wavered, and she takes great pride in being the best at what she does. “I get to help people all day long. It is the greatest feeling to know that I made a difference.”

Cindy has witnessed remarkable changes during her time with the organization, including the merging of St. Mary Hospital and Union Protestant to form UHC, as well as the exciting move from Clarksburg to Bridgeport. “The challenges it presented were exciting to undertake,” she recalls.

When asked what she’s most proud of, Cindy doesn’t hesitate: her 50+ years of loyal service. Her sense of accomplishment shines as a testament to her dedication.

To those just starting their careers at WVU Medicine, Cindy offers heartfelt advice: “Enjoy doing what you do. Don’t think of it as a job, but rather as a career.”
