Neurologist Daniel M. Mandel, MD, has joined the United Hospital Center Neurology practice.
He began his education path by graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Yeshiva University, New York, NY, before going on to New York Medical College in Westchester, NY, for his Medical Doctorate.
Internship in internal medicine, as well as his residency in Neurology, were taken at Brown University at the Rhode Island Hospital. Following that was a fellowship in vascular neurology at the University of Miami.
Dr. Mandel has had articles published in professional journals, including the Journal of Neurology, and he has been a speaker at medical conferences. He has been praised for his teaching at Brown University, where he was identified as a “terrific teacher,” plus he earned the Chief Resident Teaching Award, also from Brown.
Among his other activities, Dr. Mandel spent a week in Honduras, volunteering with the Global Health Medical Brigades, and while in medical school, he was in Guest Relations for the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley.
He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Hospital Association, the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology, and the Neurocritical Care Society.
He resides in Bridgeport with his wife.
