Several physicians and departments at WVU Medicine United Hospital Center (UHC) were voted “best” by local newspaper readers, continuing the hospital’s winning streak for excellent patient care.
The WV News’ Best of Harrison Awards invites readers to vote for their community favorites each year. This is the seventh year for the Harrison County contest, with more than 340,000 votes cast across 130 categories.
Winners were recently honored at an event hosted at the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center. UHC physicians, physician practices, and departments were nominated in five healthcare categories, receiving two overall category winners, four second-place winners, two runners-up, and six remaining finalists.
In the “Family Physician” category, Julia Teubert, DO, was named the winner, while Joseph Momen, MD, received second place and Houda Mouradian, MD, was runner-up. Remaining finalists were Frances Murray, MD, and Josalyn Mann, DO.
In the “Physical or Occupational Therapy” category, United Rehab received second place.
Dr. Momen was named the winner in the “Pediatrician” category, with London Lefevre, NP-C, receiving second place. Remaining finalists were Mary-Ann Phillips, MD, Brian Policano, MD, and Janet E. Cogar, MD.
Medpointe received second place in the “Urgent Care or Walk-In Clinics” category, with Pediatric Associates being named a remaining finalist.
Rounding out the list of UHC recipients was Sharifeh Farasat, MD, FAAD, a runner-up in the “Dermatologist” category.
