A new venue highlights the tournament’s sixth year.
The 6th Annual UHC Pro-Am, hosted by WVU Medicine United Hospital Center (UHC), United Health Foundation (UHF), and the title sponsor BlaineTurner Advertising (BTA), held this year’s event on Monday, September 30, at a new location— Bridgeport Country Club.
“The UHC Pro-Am has a long history of associating with local clubs in Harrison County. Partnering with Bridgeport Country Club is a continuation of the support the hospital receives from community partners. Few institutions in West Virginia touch as many lives in a positive way as WVU Medicine, and UHC is honored to play a key role in helping to accomplish such important work,” said David F. Hess, MD, president and CEO of UHC.
Since the tournament’s inception, UHC Pro-Am helped to bring the total amount of money raised to more than $889,500. The UHC Pro-Am is one of the largest and most successful annual charity fundraisers supporting patient care and services at UHC.
“BlaineTurner Advertising is proud to serve as the title sponsor for the sixth year running of the UHC Pro-Am Golf Tournament,” said Sarah Rogers, CEO and president of BTA. “We are committed to positively impacting our community, and the UHC Pro-Am does just this with funds going to UHC’s Greatest Needs Fund to support patients who require essential healthcare services. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that our efforts contribute to improving lives in North Central West Virginia.”
This sold-out competition draws in 92 amateurs and 23 professional golfers from Canada, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
